Introduction
PriceRoo ("we" or "our") provides a website and browser extension for comparing Amazon product prices and delivery across European marketplaces. This policy explains which product, destination and technical request data the service processes, how long price-history data is retained, which providers receive data and which rights you have.
Information We Collect
1. Product Information
When you request a comparison on the website or use PriceRoo on an Amazon product page, the service processes:
- •Product identifiers: The requested and resolved ASIN, parent/variant relationships and selected product option
- •Marketplace context: The Amazon product URL or domain, source marketplace, destination country and an optional postal code you enter for delivery verification
Purpose: To fetch the same product or variant, verify delivery, calculate comparable totals and build product and price history.
Storage: Product identifiers, catalog data, destination country, a one-way hash derived from an optional postal code, offers, availability, seller, shipping and price observations are retained as a long-term price-history index.
2. Technical Information
- •Request context: Amazon domain, requested marketplaces, delivery destination, currency and comparison mode
- •Technical data: A salted hash derived from the request IP address for short-lived rate limiting; hosting providers may also create operational logs
Purpose: To provide the comparison, prevent abuse, diagnose errors and improve service reliability.
3. Amazon Account and Purchase Data We Do Not Request
PriceRoo does not ask for or intentionally collect these Amazon account, purchase or payment details:
- ✗Your name, email, or contact information
- ✗Your Amazon account credentials
- ✗Your browsing history outside of Amazon product pages
- ✗Your purchase history or shopping cart contents
- ✗Your payment information
- ✗Precise GPS location (an optional postal code is used only when you supply it for delivery verification)
- ✗Direct account identifiers such as your name or email, unless you contact us voluntarily
How We Use Your Information
Primary Purpose: Price Comparison
PriceRoo processes the described data to provide and protect the comparison service:
- 1.Fetching Price Data: Sending the ASIN, marketplace, delivery country and optional postal code to our API and data provider to retrieve localized Amazon offers
- 2.Displaying Results: Showing you price comparisons directly on the Amazon product page
- 3.Generating Affiliate Links: Creating links to other Amazon stores (if you choose to click them)
No Secondary Uses
We do NOT use your data for:
- ✗Selling or transferring to third parties
- ✗Personalized advertising
- ✗Creditworthiness determination or lending decisions
- ✗Marketing purposes unrelated to price comparison
- ✗Personal behavioral analytics or shopping profiles; we only measure aggregate page views, comparison starts and Amazon click-outs without ASINs, search text, postal codes or stable user identifiers
- ✗Profiling users or combining product requests into personal shopping profiles
Data Sharing and Third Parties
Our API Server (priceroo.com)
- • What is shared: Product identifiers, source marketplace, requested stores, destination country, optional postal code, currency and comparison mode
- • Purpose: To coordinate localized offer requests, return comparisons and store the resulting product and price history
- • Data retention: Normalized product, variant, offer and price observations form a long-term history index. Raw provider snapshots are queried within a configurable retention window of 30 to 3,650 days; database records remain until deleted under our retention process or a valid request.
- • Security: All communication uses HTTPS encryption
Oxylabs Real-Time Crawler
- • What is shared: Product ASIN, target Amazon marketplace and localization input such as destination country or optional postal code
- • Purpose: To retrieve localized Amazon product, offer, availability and delivery data on our behalf
- • Service provider: Oxylabs, UAB
- • Provider legal and privacy information: https://oxylabs.io/legal
Amazon Affiliate Program
- • What happens: When you click a price comparison link, you're redirected to the respective Amazon store with an affiliate tag
- • Data shared: Standard referral information (Amazon handles this, not us)
- • Purpose: To support the extension's development through affiliate commissions
- • Your choice: Clicking links is entirely optional
No Unrelated Data Sharing
Except for Amazon and the infrastructure/data providers described in this policy, we do not share request data with:

- ✗Data brokers
- ✗Analytics companies for their own purposes; Vercel processes only the aggregate website events described in this policy as an infrastructure provider
- ✗Social media platforms
- ✗Unrelated third parties for their own purposes
Data Storage and Security
Client-Side Storage
PriceRoo may store minimal settings locally using your browser's extension storage API:
- • User preferences (if any settings are configured)
- • Cached price data (temporary, to improve performance)
Security: Chrome and Firefox isolate extension storage from ordinary websites. The settings remain on your device unless your browser syncs them under its own account and privacy terms.
Server-Side Storage
- • Product and price data: Catalog records, variants, offers, availability, delivery totals and observations are stored to provide latest results and historical charts
- • Operational data: Salted IP-derived rate-limit keys expire with their short rate-limit window; Vercel, Supabase and Oxylabs may process operational logs under their service terms
- • Retention: Normalized price history is intended to be retained long term. Raw snapshots use a configurable 30-to-3,650-day query window. We delete or anonymize data when it is no longer needed, required by law or subject to a valid deletion request.
Security Measures
- • HTTPS Only: All communication between the extension and our API uses HTTPS encryption
- • No Authentication Required: We don't require accounts, so there are no credentials to compromise
- • Minimal Data Collection: We only collect what's necessary for price comparison
- • Access Controls: Provider credentials and database access stay on the server and are not included in the extension
Your Rights and Choices
Data Access
Most stored history describes products and destinations rather than a PriceRoo account. You may still contact us to request access to personal data that can reasonably be linked to you.
Data Deletion
- • Local data: Remove PriceRoo or clear its stored data through your browser's extension/add-on settings
- • Server data: Contact privacy@priceroo.com to request deletion of personal data that can reasonably be linked to you. Public product and price history may remain where it is not personal data or must be retained for legal purposes.
Opt-Out
You can stop data collection at any time by:
- 1. Disabling the embedded comparison in PriceRoo settings or disabling the extension in your browser
- 2. Uninstalling the extension
Incognito Mode
The extension runs in private/incognito windows only if you enable it there. Comparisons requested in that mode use the same server-side processing and history rules described in this policy.
Chrome Web Store User Data Policy Compliance
Limited Use Disclosure
The use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- ✓Data is used only for providing price comparison functionality
- ✓Data is not sold or transferred to third parties for purposes unrelated to price comparison
- ✓Data is not used for personalized advertising
- ✓Data is not used for creditworthiness or lending purposes
Permissions Justification
PriceRoo requests the following permissions:
- • storage: To save user preferences locally (if any)
- • host_permissions for Amazon domains: To inject the price comparison widget on Amazon product pages
- • host_permissions for priceroo.com: To communicate with our API for fetching price data
All permissions are used exclusively for the stated purpose of comparing Amazon prices.
Children's Privacy
PriceRoo is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us, and we will delete it.
International Data Transfers
PriceRoo uses Vercel for hosting, Supabase for database infrastructure and Oxylabs for localized product retrieval. These providers may process data in different locations under their contractual and legal transfer safeguards. Data in transit is protected by:

- • Vercel's security and privacy commitments
- • Minimal data collection practices
For users in the EU/EEA, we comply with GDPR requirements.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
