How a PriceRoo comparison is built
PriceRoo keeps Amazon's listed item price separate from the confirmed delivered total for a destination country. This page documents our data sources, calculations, freshness and limitations.

Short answer
An offer can rank as the cheapest only when the exact product variant is available, delivery to the chosen country is confirmed and a positive total exists. The delivered total is the item price plus confirmed delivery and is converted with an ECB reference rate when necessary.
1. Product and variant
The ten-character Amazon ASIN is the starting point. PriceRoo stores product data and variant relationships such as colour, size or model separately. A different variant must not win merely because it is cheaper.
2. Availability and delivery
Each marketplace is evaluated for the selected destination country. Unavailable, unconfirmed or undeliverable offers do not rank as the best price. Amazon may change results based on address, account, Prime status and seller.
3. Price calculation
Confirmed delivered total = item price + confirmed delivery
The original Amazon price remains visible in its native currency. For a common comparison, PriceRoo converts GBP, PLN and SEK using the ECB reference rate stored with the observation. The amount shown at Amazon checkout is final.
4. Freshness and cache
Checks run on demand. A confirmed result is reused for up to 12 hours; after that, a request may check the marketplace again. Every view states the exact observation time. Prices and availability can change afterwards.
5. Price history
PriceRoo maintains two separate series: the native Amazon item price for each marketplace and the destination-aware delivered total. New observations extend the history while offer states and seller conditions remain distinguishable.
6. Deal assessment
A displayed Amazon discount alone does not make a good deal. PriceRoo considers historical lows, rolling reference values, price drops, data quality and demand. Coupons, subscriptions and time-limited promotions are labelled as conditional and are not silently included in the standard price.
7. Sources and funding
PriceRoo checks localized Amazon product and offer pages. Currency references come from the European Central Bank through Frankfurter. Amazon links may be affiliate links; a possible commission does not affect ranking or deal score.
8. Limitations
PriceRoo is not the seller or Amazon checkout. Personalised prices, Prime benefits, coupons, taxes, import charges or rapid stock changes may only be final on Amazon. We therefore show the source timestamp and link to the offer.
